Hello, my name is Maha Amin. I am a counsellor and hypnotherapist.
Whether it is anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, life pressures, lack of direction or something you cannot put into words, I am here for you.
I know it takes courage to see a therapist, but it is a step in the right direction. I provide a caring, congruent, positive and safe environment in which I help you understand your emotions and behaviour. This experience is empowering, allowing you to bring change to your life and to live more authentically.
I have a private practice as a counsellor and hypnotherapist in Marylebone, Mayfair and East London. I have also been working as a counsellor with Headstrong Counselling and worked as a child counsellor at Place2Be.
Prior to counselling, I worked in media, then as a teacher for almost 20 years, where the nature of the job involved supporting both children and parents from different backgrounds. I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, which I enjoy.
I ground myself through what I enjoy most: creativity and being in nature.
I offer a unique blend where both counselling and hypnotherapy can be used together or separately, depending on your particular needs. I offer therapy in English and Arabic.
I am a pluralistic counsellor, which means that, as we are all different and our psychological difficulties may have various causes, I use the appropriate psychotherapeutic approach to work with you. The approaches I use are:
- Person-Centred,
- CBT,
- Compassion Focused Therapy
- Some elements of psychodynamic and existential counselling
- Hypnotherapy,
- Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT),
- Mindfulness. I adapt my approach to tailor the sessions according to your needs.
This is done in collaboration with you and at your own pace.
Hypnotherapy is a normal state of total focused relaxation, which allows your thoughts to shift.
from your day to day life to your innermost thoughts and your subconscious. This allows the therapist to talk to your subconscious allowing you to re-write your story in a positive way.
Our behaviour patterns are created during our childhood. As we repeat them through our lives, they become normal to us. With time, we find it difficult to change these habits, but in fact, we CAN change these habits by reprogramming our subconscious.
With hypnosis, you are changing your thinking and behaviour patterns. You are re-training your brain to make positive changes to your present and future.

Fees are paid in advance. A 48 hour cancellation policy applies.
